Our House Plans!

So these are our offical house plans from Kerdels-

The original plan is Kerdels "The Breeze" we have changed a few things to suit how we would like the house. Firstly we chose this design as we want a very open plan living. We extended our garage out 1 metre and made the roof height 31 course (so we can fit joels work van in there!). Our Bedroom ensuite we made our single shower to a double and also our basins from single to double. Its pretty much the same bedroom set up we had in clarkson but we didnt have double basins. In our laundry I have just added benches. In Our Media Room Joel has recessed ceiling and has made the room as square as possible. In my Kitchen I have extended the bench space, upgraded my oven and cooktop. Our Alfresco has been extended out and will be covered under the main roof. In my next post i will go through all the colours, selections and upgrades i have chosen :-)

First Post - All about our build!

Well I've decided to create a blog spot so can i can post regular updates for friends and family on the progess of our new home. Well where do i start? In April this year Joel and I sold our very first home we built together. We always knew our first home was a "stepping stone" to help us get to the area we really wanted to be in. Joel and I decided we wanted to be in either the Darch or Landsdale area to be close to friends and family. We actually came accross a house and land package in "Darch" with a smaller builder called "Kerdels", so Joel called them up and we set up our first meeting with them, John our sales assistant from Kerdels gave us a map and a choice of three Blocks, so off we went to check them out. We ended up choosing the corner block as Joel wanted to have side access. So from there we put a deposit down on the block and kept our fingers crossed our Clarkson house would sell in time! Luckily enough our house sold a couple of months later and the titles where still pending for our Darch property. So from when our house sold in april until our titles came out in June we had many meetings with kerdels changing around our house plans and upgraded alot of our materials. Our Land settled on the 14th July 2010 and we where booked into our pre-start 17th August 2010. After our pre-start meeting we found out our plans where lodged into council on the 16th August, they told us it would be a good four weeks before we got out building ticket so keep your fingers crossed for the 13th September! Apparently as soon as we have the go ahead from the council it takes 2 weeks to get the slab down, so i would say we will start building early October (hopefully!!)
